Walthamstow

28/8 and 29/8/2016

The weather continues to be absolutely awesome and today we set off to look around Walthamstow and to meet our son’s girlfriends parents. First it’s lunch out at a lovely restaurant we tuck into a feast of Indian style food and enjoy a couple of pints to wash it all down.

We then all go for a walk around the Olympic park with some interesting sights to see. It’s a warm day and kids are enjoying the fountains of water – not warm enough for me to run through them though.

Our next day is a bbq in Regents park there are people everywhere enjoying the weather and time together out in the fresh air. Burgess Park in Southwark is a large 56hectares with a large lake. We see people with tents set up and people fishing in little purpose built areas. The cost is £4 per rod and strictly a catch and release.

We enjoy some fine foods – baked Camembert, jerk chicken, pork belly and some amazing barbecued bananas. We all get on just fine and the afternoon goes by so fast. A lovely end to the week-end.
