Easter with the family: fishing, walking, over-indulging in food – especially the hors d’oeuvres and now for ever known as the “great hors d’oeuvre holiday”, enjoying a few drinks and lots of laughs. We did not do so well on the fishing – just 2 carp, but they did not go to waste and were very much enjoyed by the local pelican population which kept us entertained.
Overall the scenery is beautiful, lovely green rolling hills, cliffs and clear fresh water. We enjoy a very enthusiastic walk to the top of one hill and were rewarded with spectacular views of the river winding its way through the valleys beyond us.
Although we had a lovely time catching up with each other, and it all went too quickly, I can’t recommend this as a good place to stay. Good Hope Resort fails to impress with no regard of allowing all patrons the right to enjoy the surrounds peacefully – extremely noisy motorbikes – all day, every day!
