Monthly Archives: December 2013

The end of our journey.

It has been some weeks since we have returned to Wagga Wagga and as I have been busy unpacking it has been some weeks since I have updated my blog. I thought it would be a good idea to look at how far we went and how much our expedition cost. So…..
. we set off on the 24 July 2013 and returned on 5 November 2013 – 107 days
. we stayed at 47 places including towns, cities and roadhouses.
. accommodation cost overall was $3,485.90 which averaged out at $33 per night.
      . we travelled 18,750 kilometres.
. our diesel expenses came to $4,734.67.
      . thousands of photos.
Travelling to Western Australia was a wonderful and surprising experience. I would recommend it to anyone. Untouched beaches, amazing gorges, extraordinary colours, beautiful flowers and wonderful experiences. We learnt about so many things from the unusual – people who turn fish skins into leather, to the incredible – the Ord River irrigation system and everything in between.
I look forward to continuing my blog a little closer to home, finding out what small adventures can be on my own doorstep.Time to check out Wagga Wagga. This afternoon my daughter and I hope to do a river float down the Murrumbidgee just a start of things off.
